Privacy policy

What this covers

This policy explains how information is handled when you use this website or contact me about therapy. Clinical records created once therapy begins are governed separately by Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and the standards of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, and are explained in the consent documents you receive before your first session.

Information collected through this site

If you complete the contact form, I collect the name, email address and message you provide, so that I can respond to your enquiry. That is the only purpose it is used for. It is not sold, rented or shared for marketing.

The form is processed by Formspree, which transmits the submission to my email. Email is not a secure channel, which is why I ask you not to include detailed health information in it.

Analytics and cookies

This site uses privacy-friendly analytics that count visits without cookies or tracking you across the web. No advertising trackers are used.

How long information is kept

Enquiries that do not become client relationships are deleted after 12 months. If you become a client, record keeping follows the retention requirements of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information I hold about you, ask for corrections, or ask for enquiry information to be deleted. Email victoria@lifecyclecounselling.com and I will respond within two business days.

Third-party links

This site links to Instagram, TikTok and Psychology Today. Those services have their own privacy policies, which I would encourage you to read.
